Mark Wheatley is LXCO's Operations Manager. He combines a role overseeing equipment stock and maintenance with a career as a lighting designer.
He began his lighting career at the Cambridge Corn Exchange in 1994. Prior to this he had trained at the Bass Institute of Technology in London, making a name for himself around his hometown of Cambridge with various bands playing music ranging from rock to Big Band Jazz.
As a freelance designer he has toured extensively with such acts as Gary Moore, Runrig, Motorhead, Steve Earle, Leo Sayer and Paul Carrack including Paul's Birthday Show at the Royal Albert Hall in 2001.
Other events Mark has been involved in have included outdoor spectaculars with Randy Crawford, Lesley Garrett and Edwin Starr, and his regular summer busman's holiday at the Cambridge Folk Festival. He has also designed numerous corporate and private events for clients such as Louis Vuitton, Deutsche Bank and Tudor Group.
